Is it worth going?
Every hour gets a score from 0 to 100 for the activity you have in mind, and a plain word: Excellent, Good, Caution or No-Go.
Where?
Your places, ranked side by side, on a list or a map. Beaches, creeks, landings, ramps and marinas, or any spot you pin.
When?
Now, today, tomorrow or the weekend, in the time of day you like: early riser, morning, midday, afternoon, evening.
Why?
Tap any score to see what drove it: wind, gusts, waves, temperature, rain, storms and daylight, each with its points.

SurfingEach is scored on what matters for it. A surf session wants waves; a paddle wants them gone. You tell WaterLove your experience for each, beginner to advanced, and it adjusts how much wind and swell counts as a good day.

How recommendations work
For each place and hour, WaterLove reads the forecast and scores every factor that matters for your activity against a comfortable range. Inside the range scores full marks; toward its edges the score tapers off. Each factor has a weight, and the weighted points add up to the score.
- Storms count hour by hour. Thunderstorm risk is applied to each hour before a window is averaged, so one stormy hour cannot hide inside a good afternoon.
- Warnings come first. A National Weather Service warning that affects your activity, such as a Hazardous Seas Warning for boating, stops the recommendation. A beach walk is not stopped by a warning meant for boats.
- Daylight is a rule, not points. Tell WaterLove whether you go out after dark, and hours outside your choice are left out.
- Your limits are yours. Set a no-go of your own, such as wind above 15 mph, and WaterLove respects it.
- Worked out on your phone. The same forecast always gives the same score. No artificial intelligence guesses at it, and nothing is scored on a server.

NOAA predictions from 289 stations along the South Carolina coast and just over the state lines. Choose the station on your own water when the nearest one is not.

Wave height and water temperature measured at NOAA buoys, when one is near. Sunrise and sunset for every place.

Questions
Where does WaterLove work?
Coastal South Carolina today, with tide stations just over the Georgia and North Carolina lines. Charleston is only the starting point: set your own, or use your location.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, and WaterLove does not ask for your name or email address.
Is a high score permission to go?
No. WaterLove scores forecast conditions. It does not know local laws, closures, posted restrictions, currents or boat traffic. Always check conditions yourself before you go.
Why did it say No-Go?
Open the outing and tap Why this score. It names the cause: a weather warning, storm risk, darkness, or one of your own limits.
The tide looks wrong for my spot.
Tides travel along waterways, so the nearest station is not always right. Open the place and tap Review or change the tide station to pick the one on your water.
What happens to my data?
It stays on your phone unless you choose to share something. Read the privacy policy.
